Diljit Dosanjh Ahan Shetty Varun Dhawan and Sunny Deol Kick Off Border 2 Cadet Song Shoot

The third schedule of Border 2 roared into action this week at the National Defence Academy in Pune, with a special high-energy cadet song. Leading the charge were Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Varun Dhawan and Sunny Deol, joined by director Anurag Singh, producer Bhushan Kumar, Nidhi Dutta and co‑producers Shiv Chanana and Binoy Gandhi.

On Tuesday, Sunny Deol shared a behind‑the‑scenes group photo on Instagram, captioning it, “When all ‘Forces’ Come together! #BORDER2. Diljit Dosanjh & Ahan Shetty join Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan as the battalion kicks off the 3rd schedule at Pune’s National Defence Academy!”. The image captures the four actors seated in official cadet evocative uniforms, exuding camaraderie and purpose.

Ahan Shetty, son of Suniel Shetty, expressed his excitement on Instagram, calling joining the cast “an absolute honour.” He added, "Border is more than a film- it’s a legacy, an emotion, and a dream come true”. His message spoke of personal connections, tracing his roots back to his mother's pregnancy during the original Border shooting.

Diljit Dosanjh’s inclusion continues the trend of strong star-power, following Varun Dhawan- who brings youthful depth- and Sunny Deol’s return in his iconic avatar. The film also welcomes Punjabi star Sonam Bajwa, reuniting her with Diljit after previous collaborations.

Fans watching the star-studded cadet number at NDA lit up X (formerly Twitter) with excitement. One user remarked, “It stuns to see Diljit here- it will be good to see him”, reflecting the buzz around this grand reunion.

Border 2 aims to rekindle the legacy of J.P. Dutta’s 1997 war epic, which captured hearts during the Battle of Longewala. This sequel is helmed by Anurag Singh, known for high‑octane fare like Kesari, and is supported by the original production house headed by JP and Nidhi Dutta, backed by producers Bhushan and Krishan Kumar of T-Series.

The cadet song segment is expected to highlight themes of unity, discipline, and action, setting the tone for the film’s blend of patriotism and emotion. With the third schedule underway, the team is pushing towards a Republic Day release slated for 23 January 2026.

As the battalion chants rise and the cameras roll at NDA, one thing is clear, Border 2 is charging ahead- armed with legacy, heart, and a battalion of stars.
