Actor Nithiin’s recent release Robinhood failed to make a mark at the box office. The film’s director Venky Kudumula was criticized for writing an outdated plot that did not clutch the audiences attention.But for all those who missed out on the film in theaters, here’s a chance to catch up at the OTT. Robinhood is all set for its simultaneous digital and satellite premiere on ZEE5 and Zee Telugu at 6 PM on May 10. The Tamil dubbed version will be available on ZEE5 Tamil.
Ram, a modern-day Robinhood
Robinhood stars Nithiin and Sreeleela in the lead roles. The film chronicles the story of Ram (Nithiin), a young orphan who robs the rich to help the people in need. For brevity, Ram is a modern-day Robinhood. His mission takes a dangerous turn when he crosses paths with a notorious international drug lord and his syndicate.
How Ram crosses these hurdles and contributes to a greater cause forms the main crux of the film. Although Robinhood has some intriguing and entertaining elements, the film’s overall content wasn’t engaging enough. Sreeleela (Neera) was seen as a strong and intelligent girl who isn't afraid to take on challenges.
Robinhood will be a rollercoaster ride
Nithiin is excited for Robinhood’s OTT release. Talking about the character, the actor states that Ram is not the typical hero but clever, fearless, and willing to go to any lengths to right the wrongs in society. He was hooked on the idea of stepping into the shoes of a modern-day Robinhood. “The character arc and journey has been nothing short of thrilling.
The love I received from fans during the theatrical release was truly heartwarming, and I can’t wait to see how they react when Robinhood hits the OTT,” says Nithiin, adding that the film will be a rollercoaster ride and keeps the audiences on the edge of your seat while watching from the couch.
