Allu Arjun was one of the star attractions at Waves Summit in Mumbai on Thursday. While the actor said he is still exploring life at the super success of Pushpa 2, he spoke his heart out during the conversation. Allu Arjun spoke about fitness, dance and the horrifying shoulder injury he suffered 15 years ago.
‘South Indians can’t do six pack’
Allu Arjun said that fitness was not past of popular culture, and it was a taboo in the South back then. But he heard someone saying that South Indians can’t do six packs, so he wanted to break the jinx and take up the challenge.
“Fitness is a key aspect for any actor. Since we don’t know how our film starts… with an action sequence or with a song… we should be prepared for everything. I started conditioning at the age of 19. I have had my share of struggles with injuries as well but all that made me sharper.”

While the actor acknowledged that it is extremely tough to be on top of the fitness game, he believes it’s all worth it when he sees himself on the silver screen. Irrespective whether he is shooting or not, workouts and fitness has been part of Allu Arjun’s life.
Allu Arjun broke his shoulder
The Pushpa actor also spoke about the horrific injury he suffered during the filming of his 10th film. Allu Arjun broke his shoulder and was down for three weeks. While he was gearing up to hit the gym in the fourth week, doctors advised him to stay away from work for six months.
“The news hit me very hard, it was the lowest point in my life,” Allu Arjun commented, stating that he was in Australia when the incident happened. “It was the most fearful aspect of my life. I was gearing up to go to shoot for my next film and this happened. The news struck me to the core. But I also realised that physical aspects like fitness deteriorate but what I can improve on are the artistic skills and performance.”
Fans gave strength to recover
The actor was in his late 20s and had just got married. But the injury shook him and he got paranoid. “I want to credit my fans for the recovery. I drew strength from them,” he said. “It’s their expectations that always pushed me to excel apart from my belief in them that they are always there for me.

My fans and audiences gave me the strength to come back.” Post recovery, the actor started turning the spotlight on presentation. He also stated that the injury came like a blessing in disguise for him because had it not happened, perhaps he wouldn’t have turned focus on his performance.
