The highly anticipated docuseries on Friends star Matthew Perry, who played the role of Chandler Bing, will be dropping soon on Netflix. This three-part show will dive deep into the life of one of the most beloved TV sitcom characters. What further fuels the hearts of his fans to watch this show is the addition of never-before-seen content from his family’s archive and special interviews with people who were close with Perry.
What proved to be a landslide to this emotional show is the non-involvement of his famous co-stars from the hit sitcom Friends. These include David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc.

During Friends: The Reunion, Matthew Perry had jokingly called out his castmates for not generally being in touch. When Lisa Kudrow was asked about how close the friends were, she mentioned that they did stay in touch and would be available to call or text and any given time.
To this, Matthew Perry replied, “I don’t hear from anyone,” combined with a shrug of his shoulders and a good-natured laugh. While the friends were reportedly reached out to participate, they ultimately decided against it. The source said, “They were reached out to and decided not to participate,” They continued, “Ultimately, the series gives a voice to other friends and colleagues in his life who have memories and love from Matthew.”

They further expressed how Jennifer Aniston is not someone comfortable sharing her grief for the world to see. “There’s no way Jen would ever do something like that. She isn’t going to sit down and start crying on camera. She doesn’t want to relive it and have it be so public,”
The show will particularly be focusing on his sister Mia and what she truly has to share about Matthew to the world. During a talk with Netflix, she said, “It's taken time for me to feel ready to share these memories and what it was like to love Matthew through all the complexity of his life; to see him as a whole person, not just as Chandler, and not just as someone who struggled with addiction,”
The Matthew Perry documentary series will release on October 27, 2026.
