Dia Mirza is one of the more iconic actresses of our generation with a multitude of hits. These range from Parineeta to Lage Raho Munna Bhai, amongst many other classics. This year in particular has been quite a busy one for her, with a plethora of projects in her plate such as Alpha and Ikka. Her latest role sees her as Kamalpreet Kaur Dhanoa in the new Netflix drama series, Operation Safed Sagar.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Dia Mirza recalled a certain experience from her past which she found liberating. This was during the shoot of the song Mujhe Tumse Mohabbat Hai, part of the 2004 movie, Tumsa Nahi Dekha. Dia Mirza spoke on how she had to 'strip bare' in front of close to hundreds of men during this particular shoot. She said; "It was possibly one of the most difficult things that I've ever done as a girl. Because I had to strip bare, almost down to underwear and a bra, in front of hundreds of men on set."
While the experience may have been a bit dire, she did mention how it helped build her confidence and be more free, also adding how everyone on the set made her feel comfortable. She further said, "It kind of liberated me in ways that I would have never imagined. And everyone working on it made me feel so safe."
Alike the journey of many upcoming artists in Bollywood, Dia Mirza also paved her way through sheer determination and willpower, along with loads of talent. Entering at the age of 19 with no family backing of any sorts, she had to work hard.
Dia Mirza made her debut in the year 2001, playing opposite R, Madhavan in Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, immediately gaining the attention of the audience and other filmmakers. Prior to that, she was also making rounds as the winner of the Miss Asia Pacific title in 2000.
