Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has responded to online criticism in trademark fashion, sharing a pair of shirtless gym pictures that quickly grabbed attention across social media. The actor, who recently found himself at the centre of online debate after speaking about the ongoing NEET paper leak controversy, appeared to address detractors with a cryptic yet defiant caption.
Posting the mirror selfies in the early hours of Saturday, Salman showed off his chiselled physique, posing in a gym with a towel wrapped around his head. Alongside the pictures, he wrote, “Salman Khan darrrr gaya...Hmmm joe darr gaya vo mar gaya.”
The line instantly struck a chord with fans. It references one of Hindi cinema's most memorable dialogues from the 1975 classic Sholay, written by the legendary screenwriting duo Salim-Javed, comprising Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. The phrase, meaning "He who fears, dies," has long been associated with resilience and courage, making it a pointed response to those questioning the actor's resolve.
Salman Uses Fitness Post To Silence Critics
The post arrived after a wave of online speculation surrounding both Salman's health and his recent public statements. While some social media users questioned his physical condition following a few appearances, others claimed he had softened his stance after weighing in on the NEET paper leak protests.
Salman's latest update appears to push back against both narratives. The actor's toned physique and confident caption sent a clear message that he remains unfazed by the criticism, with fans flooding the comments section in support. Many praised his fitness at 60, while others interpreted the caption as a direct response to those suggesting he had been intimidated into staying silent.

His Comments On The NEET Protests Sparked Debate
The social media post comes just days after Salman spoke about the nationwide outrage over the alleged NEET paper leak. Calling it "a very serious issue," he stressed the importance of a transparent and merit-based education system while expressing solidarity with students seeking accountability.
In a follow-up message, however, he urged students participating in the protests to return home, citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assurance that those responsible would face action.
"The students are at top priority, educationally and security-wise, so they need not worry and have their parents worried for them. The Honourable Prime Minister has tweeted, and I am sure that he will take strict action against all those people who are responsible for this leak. So students, please go back to your parents and homes," Salman wrote.
He also addressed social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been observing a hunger strike in support of the movement, saying, "Sonam, it’s done, bro. Don’t extend this. If you want, will send u food from home."
His remarks generated mixed reactions online, with some appreciating his concern for students while others criticised his appeal to end the demonstrations. The backlash led to speculation that the actor had retreated from the conversation, something his latest Instagram update appears to dismiss.
Salman is among several film personalities who have publicly voiced support for students amid the controversy. Actors including Hrithik Roshan, Alia Bhatt and Rajkummar Rao have also spoken about the issue in recent days.
