The wait is finally over. The official trailer for Dune: Part Three has arrived, teasing the epic conclusion to Denis Villeneuve's acclaimed sci-fi trilogy. Based on Frank Herbert's Dune Messiah, the third instalment picks up after Paul Atreides' rise to power, shifting the focus from his ascent to the consequences of the empire he has built in his name.
The trailer sees Timothée Chalamet return as Paul, now the Emperor, as he struggles with the weight of his decisions and the growing unrest across the galaxy. It opens with Zendaya's Chani confronting Paul, reminding him of the promise he once made to never claim power in his own name. Their tense exchange hints at a relationship fractured by ambition, prophecy and war.
Jason Momoa also makes a striking return, with his character declaring that the Lisan al-Gaib has conquered the galaxy and destroyed thousands of worlds. He later tells Paul that he is beyond redemption, underscoring the film's darker tone and the devastating legacy of Paul's rule.
The trailer also offers the first substantial look at Robert Pattinson as Scytale, who is seen discussing Paul's assassination in a bid for a "regime change". Florence Pugh reprises her role as Princess Irulan, while brief glimpses introduce Anya Taylor-Joy's Alia Atreides and tease Paul and Chani's twins, hinting at the next chapter in the Atreides bloodline.
Dune: Part Three is directed by Denis Villeneuve and is based on the 1969 novel Dune Messiah by Frank Herbert. It is the third and final film in Villeneuve's Dune film trilogy. Dune 3 stars an ensemble cast featuring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach de Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem, among others.
It will be released theatrically on December 18, 2026.
