Akshay Kumar has recently released his film Bhooth Bangla in the theatres. The movie, directed by Priyadarshan, had a decent run at the Box Office. Several reports suggest that the actor went through a minor eye procedure some time back, for which he is keeping work at a bay.
Akshay was shooting for his upcoming film with Anees Bazmee after releasing Bhooth Bangla. However, a report by Hindustan Times now states that Akshay went through the surgery on May 6. "It was for vision correction. Akshay will now take a break and recuperate since he has also finished the Keralam schedule of his next film with Anees, which also stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna," the report adds.
Interestingly, Akshay had taken to social media to share an update about the filming with his fans, a day before the surgery. Sharing a click with Vidya and Raashii, the actor penned, "Keralam schedule wrapped! Nothing beats working with good people in a beautiful place. Big love to our director Anees Bazmee for the madness behind the camera and to my incredible co-stars Vidya, Raashii, Chota Rajpal and the entire crew! This one’s been special. [heart emoticon]"
On World Laughter Day, the actor had shared a compilation of the funniest clips from his movies. He penned, "Kisi ne bataya aaj World Laughter Day hai. Maine socha ho jaye! Hanste rahiye, hansaate rahiye."
Apart from Bhooth Bangla, Akshay will also star in films like Welcome to the Jungle, Haiwaan and Golmaal 5. He has opened up about his other releases yet.
The actor also opened up about Hera Pheri 3 recently. While speaking to his fans and social media users on Instagram live, Akshay had to open up about the stalled project. He straight up addressed the questions revolving around the project and acknowledged fans' curiosity. The actor shared a disheartening update, noting that there are no concrete updates about the film. Akshay said, "Hera Pheri mujhe laga hi tha ye question aane hi wala hai. Hera Pheri par abhi toh filhal kuch bhi nahi hai. (Hera Pheri, I knew this question was coming. There's nothing on Hera Pheri right now.)"
