Excitement is building for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next big cinematic venture, Love & War. The film, which has been a major talking point in Bollywood, features a stellar cast including Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal. In a recent update that is sure to thrill fans, Alia Bhatt has confirmed that the project is moving closer to completion. While attending Milan Fashion Week 2026 as a global ambassador for a luxury brand, Alia Bhatt provided an update on the film's progress. Speaking in a conversation with Vogue Italia, she revealed that the filming is currently in its final stages. She shared, “We are at the tail end of filming. It has been quite a magical experience.” This project marks a special reunion for Alia Bhatt and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The duo previously collaborated on the 2022 hit Gangubai Kathiawadi, a performance that earned Alia a National Award. Reflecting on the opportunity to work with the filmmaker once again, Alia expressed her appreciation for his creative vision. She said, “Working with Sanjay Sir is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I am so grateful that I get to do it.”
Love & War is also a special reunion for Ranbir Kapoor and Bhansali, who last worked together on the actor’s debut film, Saawariya (2007). While there has been much discussion regarding the film’s release date which was originally eyed for Christmas 2025, recent reports suggested a shift to March 20, 2026. Although Ranbir previously mentioned a postponement on social media, current indications suggest the team is committed to a 2026 release, dismissing rumours of a delay into 2027. Apart from Love & War, Alia remains busy with a packed schedule. She was last seen in the 2024 film Jigra, and is set to appear in Alpha alongside Sharvari and Bobby Deol, which is also scheduled for a 2026 release.
