Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently spoke about her marriage to Nick Jonas and the scrutiny it has faced. The couple got married in 2018, but their 10-year age gap and their intercultural marriage led to a lot of chatter. In an interview, the actress shared her thoughts on this and stated that the outside noise no longer affects her.
Reacting to rumours predicting their split, she told Variety, "We are eight years in. If people want to keep waiting for it to implode, that's their choice. I stopped thinking about it."

However, she admitted that initially the chatter surrounding her personal life was hurtful. Priyanka continued, "I don't know what it was about us that rubbed people the wrong way. I think there was an intercultural nature of it - different countries, different religions. age gap. It was very hurtful. And we both, instead of looking out, just sort of looked at each other, and we were like, 'It doesn't matter.' So it's like water off a duck's back now."
Priyanka and Nick got married within six months of meeting. She was 36, and Nick was 26 at that time. Talking about how quickly their relationship moved on, the actress continued, "We got married really quickly, within six months of meeting. When I first married him, I didn't know if it was even real. This is part of him. Because I was like this crazy. This is put on."
She continued, "Nick has this absolute sincerity. It inspires me every day in a profession which requires you to pivot and become whatever you need to put on. He's constantly sincere. His whole day, whatever the conversation is, he is sincere."
The couple welcomed their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas in January 2022.
